We went to see Alex’s lot on Tuesday but got there when it was getting dark. We saw that a good bit had been down in the development so we decided to go back today when it was lighter.
There are now curbs, the roads are getting prepared, and the ground is getting ready for the walking paths. This is all exciting!
Unfortunately, as we were taking a little walk, I heard a scrapping sound which I’ve heard before. I turned to look and sure enough a wheel had broken on his trailer that holds his inverter and battery.
Fortunately we were not too far away from the van (and not somewhere like a doctor’s appointment).
I detached the trailer from Alex’s chair, pulled it off to the side of the road, and we went back to get the van.
The battery that sits on the trailer weighs about 60 pounds. With a broken wheel, trying to pull the trailer would mean I’d have to hold it up then pull it. I’ve done it before and it’s not easy.
We could not take too much time because without his vent and humidifier being plugged in, the air going into Alex’s lungs would not be warmed or moisturized. What could happen is that Alex’s airways would get plugged.
We got to the van, went back to pick up the trailer and got Alex’s equipment plugged back in.
Problem solving 😁
