Acts of Kindness

Over these past 21 years I have learned how much the impact of a pure act of kindness can have on someone especially if they are in the depth of pain.

In this picture are a few pages from a yellow legal pad. There is writing on the pages but it’s not just random writing it’s journaling. In this case it’s journaling of the day’s events but what events?

When the car accident in which my oldest son at 6 1/2, Alex was severely injured there was so much deep pain. In the midst of that pain my dear friend and her husband jumped in to see how best they could help.

My other children were 4, 2, and 3 days old. All of our lives were forever changed.

One of the various things my friend and her husband(he’s a friend too 😊)did was they took my two middle children

with them to spend the night. My youngest obviously could not go because he was a newborn and I was nursing him.

My Aaron. at just 4, did not want to leave. I remember well his tears. My heart was hurting so deeply for my sweet boy. We have talked about that moment now that he is an adult.

While my children were with my friends,my kids were loved on tremendously and it meant the world to me.

My friend also surprised me with these pages of journaling. She knew I had been journaling each day about my kids and so although she did not journal herself she journaled for me. She knew how much it meant to me to write down details about the day’s events.

What a sweet and kind thing to do.

There were so many times that we were recipients of random acts of kindness. Each one was and is deeply appreciated and has made a huge impact in our lives.

Be kind….it has lasting and ripple effects….
